# How to claim refund of excess ITC and file RFD- using BUSY? What are the steps?

To claim refund of excess ITC, you need to pass a journal entry for an ITC REVERSAL,
Step 1:Go to Transaction menu,
Step 2:Enter a journal voucher to select a nature of Gst Tax Adjustment After that, please enter the voucher using the name with which you created your account, such as party account debit and IGST or CGST,SGST account credit. Once you save the voucher, a window named GST tax details will appear, and in that window, you will need to select the ITC reversal section, But You should consult with your Chartered Accountant for confirmation this entry will be done in the same manner or not.
To file RFD-01 using BUSY you can follow these Steps:
Step 1:Go to Display menu
Step 2:Select Gst reports
Step 3:Select [Gst returns](https://busy.in/gst/gst-returns/)
Step 4:A report will be displayed there the name of refund statement,
Step 5:Click on it,and it will show you many refund statement, here is showing Refund S01A,Click on it select inward or outward as you want to see, select date range and open the report and check.
Step 6:Open the Refund e-return to generate a refund statement from BUSY select S0A1 e return you can create JSON,AsPer govt. Template and Plain excel, Please select as you want to generate, choose a date range, and proceed, your refund e return will be generated successfully.
