# I want to add a custom column in the GST sales register to show tax rates. How can this be done?

To add a custom column in the GST sales register to show tax rates, you need to follow the below steps:
Step 1: Go to Display.
Step 2: Select GST Reports.
Step 3: Choose [GST registers](https://busy.in/gst/how-to-register-for-gst-in-india-a-step-by-step-guide/).
Step 4: Pick Sales Register.
Step 5: Select the register to be shown for local, central, and combined.
Step 6: Choose the register to be shown for bill-wise, [HSN code](https://busy.in/hsn/)\-wise, and item-wise.
Step 7: Select the register to be shown for both B2B and B2C.
Step 8: Set the date range and relevant information, then press OK and F2.
Step 9: After loading the report, you can check the sales report.
Step 10: At the top of the report, you'll find a Custom Column option. Click on it.
Step 11: Add the format name and press Enter.
Step 12: Click on Add New Column and name the heading.
Step 13: Choose the position where you want the column.
Step 14: Set the data type to text.
Step 15: Align it to the left.
Step 16: Specify the number of characters as 40.
Step 17: Select Field Value Details as a Data Field.
Step 18: Set the data field category as Inventory Voucher Body.
Step 19: Click on the field and select GST\_PERCENT.
Step 20: Save the file.
Step 21: Save the format.
Step 22: Reload the format.
Step 23: The tax rates will now appear in the sales register.
