Before you close an accounting period in BUSY, we suggest you follow these steps:
 Step 1: Post a depreciation voucher to calculate the actual value of your fixed assets.
 Step 2: Pay off all your liabilities that are due in the current financial year.
 Step 3: Review your balance sheet and profit & loss statements and correct any errors if found.
 Step 4: Transfer your net profit or loss amount to the capital account.
 Step 5: Review your inventory also and pass stock journal or physicall stock voucher if found any discrepencies.
 After follow these steps you can create a new financial year.

You can split financial year and delete it from existing company in BUSY by following below steps:
Step1: Open BUSY software and then go to company menu
Step2: Now select split financial year option and select particular company 
Step3: After that click on particular financial year which you want to split it and then select on check box of after splitting delete above financial year from source company option
Step4: Now click on Ok and then press Yes, after completing the process a confirmation message will appear on the screen
Step5: Then you will check a new company has been created with a particular financial year

When you split financial year then you can split only first or last financial year of company. If you want to split financial year from mid then you need to follow these steps:
Step 1: Open BUSY then click on Backup Data.
Step 2: Choose your company of which financial year you want to split.
Step 3: Enter the backup file path and select the financial year which you want to split and create a seperate company.
Step 4: Now, click on Restore Data and select that backup folder and select No on overwrite option.
Step 5: A seperate company will be created of that financial year.

I am sorry, After creating the company, if you need to modify the financial year start date and end date in BUSY, you might face limitations. To resolve this problem, you may need to follow these steps:
Step 1: Create a new company.
Step 2: While creating a company, specify the correct financial year.
Step 3: Use the "Copy Master, Users, and Configuration" settings to copy masters from the old company to the newly created company.
Step 4: Otherwise, follow the XML export and import technique to import the master and transaction data from the old company to the new company.

To delete a financial year in BUSY, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open BUSY Software and go to the company menu.
Step 2: Select Delete company / Single F.Y option.
Step 3: Then select the company from the list of companies option and then select the company whose financial year you want to delete.
Step 4: Then it would ask you do you want to delete the company or single financial year click on the single financial year option.
Step 5: Select the financial year you want to delete and click on Yes for delete particular financial year.
Note: Take backup of your data before making any changes.

If your company has two financial years, and you want to split it into two companies with different financial years, you can follow these steps:
Step 1: Open BUSY or go to the company menu.
Step 2: Click on Split Financial Year.
Step 3: Select the company and enter a valid superuser name and password.
Step 4: Choose the financial year to be split and click on After splitting, delete the above financial year from the source company.
Step 5: Click on Split, and the company will split into two financial years.
Note: Ensure you have the latest backup of the company before splitting the financial year.

If your previous year references are not getting carried forward even though they 
were created then it might be possible the the carry forward to next year not generated 
properly To solve the issue follow the steps 
1 Go to previous year by pressing F11 key 
2 Then go to house keepng menu and run update master balance 
3 then go to administration menu and click on change financial year 
4 then click on Financial year from 1st april of next year then make yes on carry balance 
5 select all master and click on start to carry forward the data

If You want To Change Financial Year With Updated Master You can follow these steps:
Step 1: Take a backup of your data. Then open the last year and in the Housekeeping Menu, check for junk characters and incomplete vouchers. If found, clear them.
Step 2: Run the Update Master Balance process.
Step 3: Go to Administration, change the financial year, and then click on your current year.
Step 4: Click Yes to carry forward the balances. If the data size is small, click on All Masters. If the data size is big, click New and change masters.
Step 5: Check the balance of your masters.

If When change financial year price not showing of some item in next financial year, please follow these steps :
Step 1 : Go to previous financial year 
Step 2 : Click on administration then bulk updation
Step 3 : Run master synchronization with master type as item name and key field as name
Step 4 : Tick that item names and select both common and new masters of source financial year
Step 5 : Then go to house keeping run update masters balances
Step 6 : Change financial year from administration by selecting option carry forward balances as yes with new and changed masters.

To move to the current financial year from 22-23 and carry only the balances that have changed in the previous year below are the steps to do it:-
Step 1: You have to click on the Administration menu.
Step 2: Then click on the Change financial year option.
Step 3: Aftewards click on Financial year from 1-4-2023 option then it'll ask for carry balances.
Step 4: You have to click on yes button in carry balances window.
Step 5: Then second window of "Balances to be carried of" will appear you have to click on "New and change master button" then click on Start button.
