Question

I can't find the company I created in BUSY. Where did it go?

Answer

There could be a few reasons why your company is not showing up in the company list of the
BUSY. Here are a couple of possibilities and solutions:
Possibility 1: If you have a single user and you have already opened that company,
it may not show up in the company list when you search for it.
Solution: Close the company and try searching again.
Possibility 2: If BUSY software shuts down unexpectedly, a "Microsoft locking file" may be
generated within the company folder, which can lock the DB files for a while and prevent the
company from appearing in the list.
Solution: Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Step 1: Restart your system and check if the issue persists.
Step 2: If the issue still persists, create a new company folder with an alphanumeric name
starting with "COMP" and four digits. Then, copy only the .db files from the existing folder to
the new one.
Step 3: If the issue still remains, extract the .db files from the old backup of the company.
Here are the steps to extract them:
- Double-click on the Data.bkp file.
- Click on the "Extract" option to extract the .db files from it.
- Copy the .db file and paste it in the new folder, replacing the existing .db file.
By following these steps, your company should show up automatically in the company list.
