    What is Marg2BUSY Utility?

    The Marg2BUSY utility transfers data from Marg to BUSY, allowing businesses to efficiently import master data (like ledgers, groups, and items) and transaction data (like sale/purchase and journal vouchers).

    Things to consider before migrating data from Marg to BUSY

    • Make sure a backup is created for Marg data before migrating
    • Consider migrating a small dataset first to check the process and identify potential issues.

    Before starting the migration process, users have to do some configuration in Marg:

    Step 1: Navigate to Masters > Marg Setups > Advance Features > Self-Designed Reports

    Step 2: In the REPORT field type, enter two random characters & press enter

    Step 3: Type “DATAEXPORT” in the next line & press enter.

    Step 4: Click or press enter on the first option “OPEN PROGRAM”, a new notepad like window will appear.

    Step 5: Copy & Paste “do &datdev\m2b.fxp” in the window & press the CTRL+W key.

    Step 6: Click or press enter on the 5th option, “RUN PROGRAM.” Wait for some time so data can be exported from Marg. Now, the Configuration part is done on Marg’s side.

    Once the configuration in Marg is completed, users can proceed with the migration process.

    How to Migrate Data from Marg To BUSY

    Step 1: Download the Marg2BUSY utility from BUSY Download

    Step 2: Install it on your system.

    Step 3: Create a new company in BUSY to transfer the data. (Company name can be same to avoid confusion)

    Note If the migrated data contains batch-wise details, then users have to manually select the batch-wise feature in BUSY for accurate data transfer

    Step 4: Now, open the Marg2BUSY utility.

    Step 5: Map the Account group using the Marg2BUSY utility for accurate data transfer.

    Note: Marg2BUSY utility also provides an auto-map feature to simplify this process.

    Step 6: Select the Company, FY and Data range to import from the particular date range.

    Step 7: Lastly, click on Transfer to complete the migration process.

    • Once the data import is completed, verify the data in BUSY to ensure accuracy.
