From a 2,000-Assembly Order to On-Schedule Delivery: How BUSY Helps
Ravi supplies machined and assembled components to two Tier-1 customers, with plating and heat treatment sent to processors in the same industrial area.
Without BUSY
An order for 2,000 assemblies went into production. Each unit needed several bought-out components, machined parts and a subassembly built in-house.
Component stock sat in one register, plating challans in a diary, and the subassembly requirement had been worked out from the top-level drawing only.
Assembly ran fine to 1,700 units and then stopped. A bracket used two levels down had been consumed by another job, and 400 pieces were still lying at the plating vendor with nobody tracking them.
The balance shipped eleven days late and the customer raised it at the next review.

The BOM now calculates the full requirement across production levels before material is issued, so a component consumed by another job can be identified as a shortage earlier.
