I made an asset purchase but it is incorrectly showing in my GST summary. How can I tag it properly as a fixed asset purchase?
If you want to show fixed asset entry only in the balance sheet and not in the GST report in BUSY, you can follow these steps:
Step 1: You can pass a fixed asset entry either from a purchase voucher or a journal voucher.
Step 2: If you enter your fixed asset in a journal voucher, you need to follow these steps:
- Firstly, create an account master under the account group "Fixed Asset".
- Then, go to the Transaction menu, click on Journal, and select the Add option. Debit the Fixed account and credit it to the appropriate account. It will show accordingly in the final report.
If you are entering a purchase voucher for it, you need to check these steps:
- Go to the Administration menu.
- Click on Item and select the Add option.
- Create a fixed asset item master and tag the fixed asset account ledger within the item master in front of the "Specify purchase account here" option. Also, set the unit as "NA" if you don't want to maintain stock of it.
- Then, go to the Transaction menu, click on Transaction, and select the Purchase Add option. Enter the fixed asset item there.
Through this, even if you are entering a purchase voucher, because of fixed asset account tagging within the item master, the amount will reflect only in the fixed asset ledger and not in the purchase ledger.
