Find Solutions to Common Issues Related to taxation - cess on mrp
Cess on MRP will be charged on largest units either main or packaging unit.
Step 1: If additional cess is enabled from GST/VAT from Administration->Configuration->Feature and Options->GST/VAT
Step 2: Enable CESS and select Enable additional cess as Yes
Step 3. Mention additional cess percentage in Tax category master (from Administration->Masters->Tax Category Menu)
Step 4: In Item master specify the alternate unit if this feature is enabled from the inventory tab.
Step 5: Create bill sundry of Cess on MRP by selecting bill sundry nature as Add. Cess on GST.
Step 6: Percentage of Bill sundry should be charged on Total MRP of items by selecting over and above in it.
Step 7: Create a sales type master and mention add. Cess amount with respective tax rate.
Step 8: Now we can enter transaction.
To calculate Cess on GST, you need to follow the below steps:
Step 1: Go to Administration
Step 2: Click on configuration then features/option
Step 3: Then click on GST/VAT
Step 4: Check if Cess and additional cess is enabled
Step 5: Then go to administration
Step 6: Then click on masters
Step 7: Then go to item and click on modiFinancial Year
Step 8: Then select the tax category and open in modiFinancial Year by Alt+m
Step 9: Check cess rate and Acess rate
Step 10: Check tax rate and basis as required
Step 11: Select Bill sundry of additional cess and check calculation basis is according to requirement.
By following these steps , you will be able to check Cess on GST calculating correctly in BUSY.
To apply the Cess on GST Follow the steps below:
Step 1: Go to Administration then configurations and click on Features and Options Menu.
Step 2: Go to GST/VAT enable Cess and save.
Step 3: Go to Administration then masters and click on Tax Category. Enable Cess, mention the Cess rate there and save Tax Category master.
Step 4: Go to Administration then masters, and click on Sale or Purchase type as per your requirement and Mention the Cess rate there and save Sale Type master.
Step 5 : Make sure to use Multi-rate Sale type to pick tax rate from the item master.
Step 6: Go to the Transactions menu, add Sales Voucher and select the sale type and pick tax bill sundries by pressing F4 key.
To calculate Cess on MRP, you need to follow the below steps:
Step 1: Go to Administration
Step 2: Click on configuration then features/option

Step 11: Select Bill sundry of additional cess and then set calculation basis total MRP of items and can select inclusive or over and above.
If you want to add cess in BUSY software please follow given below steps:
Step 1: Go to administration menu
Step 2: Then click on configuration
Step 3: Then click on features and option
Step 4: Afterwards select GST/VAT
Step 5: Then select enable cess option as Y to enable it and save it
Step 6: Then go to administration menu
Step 7: Then click on masters
Step 8: Then click on tax category
Step 9: Then open tax category from modify or list button with you want to apply CESS
Step 10: Afterwards specify the cess rate and config it as per your requirements
Step 11: Afterwards you can add the voucher from transactions menu and apply the cess accordingly
If the Cess option is disabled from the GST/VAT tab, you will not be able to define the Cess rate within the tax category master. To enable the Cess option in BUSY, follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Go to the Administration menu.
Step 2: Click on the Configuration tab.
Step 3: Click on Features and Options.
Step 4: Click on GST/VAT, and enable the Cess option from there.
Once you enable the Cess option, it will start to reflect in the tax category master. Then, you will be able to define the Cess percentage within the tax category master.
To apply the Cess on MRP, please follow the steps below for Item wise:
Step 1: Go to Administration then configurations and click on features and options.
Step 2: Go to GST/VAT enable Cess and save.
Step 3: Now go to Administration then masters and click on Tax Category. Enable Cess, mention the Cess rate there and enable Tax on MRP and save it.
Step 5: Go to the Transactions menu, add Sales Voucher and select the sale type inclusive Local or Central as required by you, with this you can use Cess on MRP item wise.
To calculate the Cess on MRP, please follow the steps below for Item wise:
Step 1: Go to Administration then configurations and click on features and options.
Step 2: Go to GST/VAT enable Cess and save.
Step 3: Now go to Administration then masters and click on Tax Category. Enable Cess, mention the Cess rate there and enable Tax on MRP and save it.
Step 5: Go to the Transactions menu, add Sales Voucher and select the sale type inclusive Local or Central as required by you, with this you can use Cess on MRP item wise.
For charge cess on Mrp follow these steps
1. First we have to enable cess for enable cess Go in administration
2. Then Go in configuration then click on feature/option
3. Then Go in Gst-vat and enable additional cess
4. Then Go in administration then master then account
5. Then Go in bill sundry and create for additional cess on mrp
6. Take percentage and Total Mrp of item in Bill sundry and take over and above
7. Mention Mrp value in item master and pass voucher

Step 3: Now click on the Features option, then click the GST VAT tab.
Step 4: Enable Additional Cess in
Step 5: Create the Tax Category with Additional Cess
Step 6: Configure the Sale Purchase Type
