What is the housekeeping function in BUSY and when should I use it?
House-keeping menu helps to maintain data in an efficient manner. It allow to keep the data updated and provides facility to repair data
Step 1: Reindex database - Sometimes the data can get corrupted due to various reasons such as virus attack, hard disk crash and so on. In such a case, you can Reindex the databases to repair the corrupted data
Step 2: Rewrite books - Rewrite of books is necessary in cases where the values in the database maybe entered incompletely or some changes are made in the configuration of the company.
Step 3: Update master balance - Update Master Balances option is provided to update balances of all the masters. The need for this option arises in conditions when the balances of the masters get disturbed due to any reason
Step 4: Regenerate Master Help file - if you have made changes in the Master or Additional Fields that are displayed in the Masters list then this option make all the back end changes required to successfully implement the changes made in the configurable Masters list.
Step 5: Update voucher GST Summary - This option is to be executed only if any value in the GST Summary is not coming correctly.
Step 6: Recalculate Item Tax amount - This utility will recalculate tax values in vouchers according to Tax Category and it will work only in case of Tax Inclusive Vouchers.
Step 7: Regenerate Dual voucher - This option can be used if at some stage you find that there is some difference in stock or accounting entries or you have made any changes in Bill Sundry configuration and want to regenerate all the vouchers in bulk
Step 8: Check Incomplete Voucher - Use this option to check vouchers that have been save with incomplete data
Step 9: Check Junk Character - Use this option to check presence of junk characters in Masters. Sometimes because of junk characters saved in master, problem in data appears and data needs to be send for data repair.
