Yes, you can split the financial year instead of deleting it in BUSY Accounting software.
To split financial year in BUSY, follow these steps:
Step 1: Take the latest backup of your data.
Step 2: Open BUSY then click on split financial year option.
Step 3: Select the required company and specify the admin login credentials.
Step 4: Select Financial year for splitting and click on split option.

You should be take the steps before changing financial year, follow these steps :
Step 1: It is recommended to take a backup of the data to ensure that the changes are saved and can be restored if needed. 
Step 2: If you are multi user then make sure that the client system must be closed while running the process of changing financial year.

If you want to change financial or create new financial in BUSY, you can follow these steps:
Step 1: Open Administration menu and click on Change Financial Year.
Step 2: Here you can change the financial year or can press F11 in home screen to switch financial year.
Step 3: To create new financial year click on New Year From and can create the new one.

The process of splitting company , Follow the steps given below:
Step 1 : Open BUSY 
Step 2 : Press Enter on Split Financial Year 
Step 3 : Select the Company
Step 4 : Select the First of Last Financial Year 
Step 5 : Click on Split option 
Step 6 : Go to Open Company and check the Financial Year is splitted from the company

To change financial year in company, follow the below steps:
Step 1: Go to administration menu then click on last option of change financial year. 
Step 2: Then select the financial year in which you want to change it and select yes if you want to carry forward the balances.
Step 3: Click on start button to start the process and check after complete it.

When you create new financial year in BUSY, then entries will not carry forward to the next year.Only the masters closing balances will be carry forward to the next yeat but if you want to see the entries of the last year in the current financial year then you need to open the ledger by entering the date from the last year.

If the issue persists even after updating master balances and carrying forward to the next year in BUSY,please follow below steps: 
Step 1: Take backup and re index database last year . 
Step 2:  Check the last year balance sheet is properly match in the last year 
Step 3 : if not check the data entries with specific date range changes 

If your last financial year closing balances not carried forward to current financial then can follow these steps:
Make sure to take backup of your data before make any changes.
Step 1: Go to last financial year and run Update Master Balances from the House-keeping menu.
Step 2: Change F.Y. again with ALL Masters from the Administration menu and check if the balances are correct.

If you want to transfer the last year data into current year then follow the steps.
Step 1: Go to the Administration menu then click on Change Financial year option .
Step 2: Then click on new year from option and press ok button to proceed the data transfer.
Step 3: Then click on start button to carry the last year data into current year.

If need to delete data in previous financial year in BUSY, please follow these steps :
Step 1 : Close company
Step 2 : Go to backup data option and take backup of your data
Step 3 : Then click on delete company and single F.Y
Step 4 : Select company put super user and password
Step 5 : And delete single financial year data as needed.
